Surfside Beach

Surfside Beach, South Carolina beach swellsThe town of Surfside Beach proudly calls itself “the family beach,” and is a thriving vacation destination. Along its two miles of oceanfront one will find beach houses, condos, hotels, restaurants and a fishing pier. It is located four miles south of Myrtle Beach and is the perfect destination for families.

History:

Surfside was first known as Roach’s Beach, then Flora Beach, but after the land changed ownership in 1952, it was renamed for the final time. The underdeveloped beach was layered with sand dunes, and only one small sandy road led from the highway. This was a quiet beach until development began.
